The goal of the project, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), is to develop strategies and techniques for a sensitive and sustainable sanitation on the basis of a German technology to remove the sludge (sediturtle), that will be adapted to the specific conditions in Vietnam. On one hand investigations on the geological, hydrogeological, hydrological, biological, chemical and limnological situation of the lake will be carried out over two years to work out the basis for the sanitation and on the other hand the sediturtle will be proved in a similar lake in Hanoi.
